Guidelines for Essay Competition

 

General Information:

  1. Eligibility: Open to all undergraduate students from all departments
  2. Theme: Entrepreneurship vs. Traditional Jobs: What Defines Success Today?
  3. Word Limit: 1000–1500 words
  4. Language: English

 

Writing & Submission Guidelines:

  1. Students must report to the designated venue 15 minutes before the competition begins.
  2. Participants will be provided with paper for writing.
  3. They must bring their own pens (black or blue ink).
  4. No external materials (books, notes, or mobile phones) will be allowed.
  5. Once the time is up, participants must submit their essays to the invigilators before leaving the venue.

 

Essay Structure:

A. Title

  • Participants should write an appropriate title for their essay.

 

B. Introduction

  • Briefly introduce the topic and its significance.
  • Clearly state the main argument or focus of the essay.

 

C. Body

  • Develop key points with logical structure and supporting arguments.
  • Provide examples, case studies, or real-life applications where relevant.

 

D. Conclusion

  • Summarize the key ideas discussed.
  • Offer final insights or a thought-provoking statement.

 

Judging Criteria:

  1. Content & Relevance (Depth of ideas, clarity, and relevance to the theme) - 30 marks
  2. Structure & Organization (Logical flow, coherence, and clarity) - 20 marks
  3. Language & Style (Grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and readability) - 20 marks
  4. Critical Thinking & Argumentation (Strength of arguments, originality, and analysis) - 20 marks
  5. Creativity & Expression (Unique insights and engaging writing style) - 10 marks

 

Important Notes:

  1. The essay must be original and written during the allotted time.
  2. Any form of plagiarism or external assistance will lead to disqualification.
  3. Students who arrive late may not be given extra time.
  4. The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
