Rounds
Qualifiers: Short typing tests to filter participants.
Semi-Finals: More challenging text with punctuation and numbers.
Finals: Complex passage, including special characters and symbols.
Time Limit
Usually 1-5 minutes per round
Shorter tests (1-2 min) for speed-focused rounds
Longer tests (5 min) for endurance
A. General Rules
Use a standard QWERTY keyboard.
No autocorrect or predictive text assistance.
No external typing tools (e.g., macros, auto-typers, or speech-to-text software).
Stay within the competition platform’s interface (no switching windows/tabs).
B. Scoring System
Words Per Minute (WPM): Measures speed.
Accuracy: Determines final score adjustment.
Final Score=WPM×Accuracy Percentage
Example: 90 WPM × 98% Accuracy = 88.2 Adjusted Score
Typing mistakes may require backspacing to correct.
Some competitions deduct points for uncorrected errors.
No cheating (monitoring software may be used in online events).
Respect time limits (no restarting mid-competition).
Follow event moderator’s instructions.
If two participants have identical scores, a 30-second speed round may determine the winner.
If still tied, accuracy takes priority.
