The Literary Cosplay Contest is a creative event where participants dress up as characters from literary works, such as novels, short stories, poems, or historical literary figures. Participants will also present a short performance related to their character.
Open to individual participants only, which means each institution can have multiple participants for this event.
Participants must represent a character from books, folklore, or literary history (not from movies, television shows, comics, or anime, unless originally from a book).
Costumes should be realistic and relevant to the chosen character.
Participants may use handmade or store-bought costumes, but creativity is encouraged.
Props are allowed, but no dangerous objects (e.g., real weapons, fire, sharp items).
Each participant will have 2-3 minutes to introduce their character through:
Participants will be judged based on the following:
Costume Accuracy (25%) – How well the costume represents the literary character.
Character Portrayal (25%) – Acting, expression, and dialogue delivery.
Creativity (20%) – Innovative presentation, use of props, and storytelling.
Stage Presence (15%) – Confidence and engagement with the audience.
Relevance to Literacy (15%) – Connection to literature and character authenticity.
No offensive, inappropriate, or disrespectful content.
No explicit language or violent performances.
Participants must register in advance and provide their character details.
There will be negative marking for exceeding the set time limit.
