Relay Spell Bee Competition

Guidelines for Relay Spell Bee Competition

Team Composition:

1. Each team will consist of 4 participants from the same college.

2. Each institution can register only one team for this event.

Competition Format:

1. The competition will be conducted in a relay format, where team members spell words one after the other. 

2. The competition will have multiple rounds: Preliminary, Semifinals, and Finals (depending on the number of teams).

Competition Rules:

a) Word Pronunciation and Spelling Process

1. The pronouncer will pronounce the word, say its meaning and origin and may use it in a sentence.

2. The word must be spelled correctly and sequentially.

b) Relay System

1. Each team member will spell one word at a time.

2. After a participant finishes spelling a word, the next participant in the team will proceed with the next word.

3. Teams cannot change the order of participants once the round starts.

c) Timing

1. Participants will get 30 seconds to spell their word.

2. If any speller fails to spell the word within the given time, it will be marked incorrect.

d) Elimination & Scoring

1. Teams earn points for each correct spelling.

2. If a team member spells a word incorrectly, they do not get points for that word, and the next team continues.

3. The team with the highest score at the end of all rounds wins.
